Paul Milles, Joe Liptak,
Joe Angelone, Carl Nesello, Jim Missel

Saturday Arrived at the ramp at 4:00am and set up to what I thought was going to be a very big tournament because this was going to be our Open Tournament for the year. However, turnout was much lighter than expected, we had 18 anglers fishing this tournament. From the reports that were shared with me we had 11 no shows because fishing was tough and the weather forecasts were not good. We never received the rain that was predicted, however we did have the strong winds that were forecast. It seemed as though at times that it may have gusted up to 40 mph. Waves hit the North end of the lake were in the neighborhood of 2 to 3 footers. Which made worm and jig fishing with the gusting wind almost non existent. Six anglers, unfortunately came in with no fish, and we had only six anglers come in with a limit of fish. Winning weight for this tournament was extremely light for this lake. Winning weight was 10.15 lbs. Considering the Saturday before tournament on this lake, the winning weight was over 24 lbs. Tuesday nights tournament, winning weight was over 17 lbs, for a 3 hour tournament! So by comparison, you can see the winning weight for our tournament was very light, mainly due to the weather conditions.

The wind condition that I have already mentioned. The skies varied from heavy overcast to bright sunshine. Water temperature had dropped from 76 degrees down to 71 degrees in just a few days. Water clarity was slightly stained. Some of the good ole southern boys would call it clear, but by comparison to some of the lakes up here, this was just slightly stained. You could still see your crankbait down about 4 feet.

Fish were caught using spinnerbait, the winner used a crankbait (all day) (cotton cordelle brand) , senkos, and this is all that the anglers would admit to LOL.

First Place Paul Milles 10.15 lbs.
Second Place Joe Liptak 9.58 lbs.
Third Place Joe Angelone 8.24 lbs.
Fourth Place Carl Nasello 8.08 lbs.
Fifth Place Jim Missel 7.64 lbs.

Big Bass Tony Gallelli 3.71 lbs.
2nd Place Big Bass Paul Milles 3.68 lbs.

Thanks to all those anglers who weathered out those adverse conditions… Our next tournament will be at Redfield Resevoir, Jackson Rd Ramp on July 26th. Hope to see you there. Don’t forget guys, this is the lake where 80 mph winds won’t bother us, Well, maybe a little.

Hope to see you on the water.
