Black Lake Tournament Results July 16, 2006
This was
the second tournament for this weekend, following the Chippewa Bay
tournament. The forecast called for 5 to 15 mph winds with the temperature
in the high 80’s. The water temperature ranged from 77 degrees
to 79 degrees. There were very few clouds in the sky, turning out
to be a bluebird day.
We all
expected a full field at this tournament, however that did not happen.
We had 17 anglers that participated in this event. The bite was extremely
tough with many people complaining that they could only catch short
fish. The size limit on this lake is 15 inches. In all likelihood,
this was the last tournament for District 4 on Black Lake and the
last of our back to back tournaments, except for the 2-Day District
Championship.
Now that we now have two districts close together in New York there
is no need for District 124, Directed by Burnell Haney, or District
4 to run back to back tournaments. Burnell and I will work hard so
that there will be enough tournaments for our anglers to be able to
qualify for the Nationals. We had quite a few disappointed anglers
at this tournament for 2 reasons. The amount of fish that were caught
and the number of anglers that showed up for this tournament. There
were only 3 limits caught in this tournament.
The top 5 finishers:
1st Place
Jim Moore 13.48
2nd Place Jim Missel 12.95
3rd Place Don Tripoli 12.45
4th Place Mark Mothersell 7.82
5th Place Mark Hertlein 7.63
Big fish Jim More(Left) and 2nd place big fish Mark Hertlein
Our next
tournament is Irondequoit Bay on July 29th. We need to have full fields
at these next tournaments for our anglers to get the maximum points
available. There are only 2 one day tournaments left for this season
in our district.
Please remember you NEED to have FOUR one day tournaments completed
prior to fishing our 2-Day District Championship.
If you need more tournaments to qualify….. District 124 has
two tournaments this weekend…one on Butterfield Lake and one
on Lake Bonaparte. Remember you can fish any ABA District to qualify
for the 2-Day District Championship.
