Lake Report

Arriving at the ramp at 4 am we could see that it may be a confusing
day. The gentleman that was to unlock the gate was no where to be
found. As this was our first tournament of the year eveyone was very
excited and rarin to go and get the boats in the water.
The weather was cold in the low 40's in the early morning and only
warming to the low 50"s the winds were out of the North to North
West and blowing in the teens with wave action form 3 to 5 feet. The
water temperature ranged from the high 40's to only 52 degrees depending
upon the areas that you were fishing. All the anglers were very cold
and glad they were off the water, at the weigh in.
This is a one fish tournament, as our regular Bass season is not open
as of this date. However the D E C allows this Lakes to be fished
preseason with a one fish limit. Their is a size restriction that
is in place, nothing under 15 inches may be kept, or brought into
the scales to be weighed and released. We are also not alowed to fish
any of the tributaries that connect to Lake Erie, and Smallmouth Bass
only.
Not much information was shared about the lures that the fish were
caught on. However yours truly on a pretournament trip caught them
on jigging spoons and tubes. As this time of the year usually runs
about the same on Lake Erie the reports I heard were the same baits
were used.
The next tournament will be on the Same Lake Erie and same ramp Location
